Did you know? About 80% of B.C.’s drinking water comes from creeks and lakes in our forests. These areas, however, are under increasing pressure from wildfires, floods, droughts, and more.
What can we do better to protect these areas – as elected officials and government staff, industry, and citizens?
Join us for a Community Water Forum on November 19: “Forests, Freshwater, and People – The Restoration Imperative” – hosted by the Okanagan Basin Water Board-Okanagan WaterWise, UBC Okanagan and Okanagan Nation Alliance.
This is a free public event, however seating is limited and registration is required.
Hear from an insightful panel of experts about the important interactions between forests and water, what it will take to restore our forested landscapes, and the steps we can take to safeguard our water supply.
