Project Description:
In this two-phase project, the En’owkin Centre and the Regional District Okanagan Similkameen (RDOS) staff are collaborating on building New BC School Curriculum tools (Okanagan Valley focus) related to prescribed learning outcomes/objectives for Kindergarten to Grade 5 students entitled “Follow the Water K-5 Curriculum Project.” The project involves developing and delivering curriculum-based programming into the classroom, which includes Syilx Traditional Ecological Knowledge (TEK) as it relates to Indigenous views on the water. Place-based learning is an essential part of B.C.’s renewed curriculum. The project can offer presentations at a subsidized rate and/or free of charge to help schools meet their new curriculum requirements.
