Project Description:

The goal of the RDOS to decrease water consumption and reduce the amount of water consumed on peak usage days within the Regional District, led to the multi-year Water Ambassador Program. This program started in 2007, and was first awarded a WCQI grant in 2011. The Water Ambassador attends public events, speaking to individuals and groups about water conservation and related topics. The program provides updated brochures, articles for local publications, and ‘Making Water Work’ articles and posters. The Water Ambassador also works closely with the Okanagan Basin Water Board’s valley wide “Make Water Work campaign, to coordinate water conservation messaging throughout the valley.
