EcoBlast Kids Camps and Concerts
Project Year:
2017
Project Budget:$30,000
WCQI Grant:$5,000
Organization:Fresh Outlook Foundation
Project Description:
The Fresh Outlook Foundation (FOF) is at the forefront of environmental education for children through its highly acclaimed Eco-Blast Kids Camp & Concert. The camp's innovative approach increases campers understanding of and passion for ecological issues through song, dance, art, and age-appropriate workshops and field trips. Successful camps in 2013 and 2014 resulted in measurable behaviour change among participants and their families. FOF is committed to optimizing the positive influence of Eco-Blast, and requires funding support from granting organizations such as yours for the 2017 events in Lake Country (July 24-28) and Kelowna (August 14-18).
Specific to OBWB's area of interest, information will be shared through education about water conservation, water-related art projects and field trips (e.g., a tour of the Phase 1 Mission Creek Restoration Initiative), and eco-songs such as Up Your Watershed and 40 Million Salmon Can't be Wrong!
