Project Description:
The goal of this project is to protect and improve source water and water quality by encouraging riparian setbacks by creekside landowners in the North Okanagan.
Phases
- April 1-May 31 2018 > Priority mapping (GIS), coordination with partner organizations (OCCP, SPrKL, RDNO), identify landowners and obtain landowner contact information.
- June 1 2018-March 1 2019 > Conduct landowner contact, provide landowners with information, conduct follow-up site visits as necessary, make recommendations to landowners, negotiate land management agreements, engage communities in stewardship action. Identify potential riparian restoration demonstration site.
- Sept 1-November 30 2018 > Develop riparian enhancement plans for interested landowners. Assist landowners in applying best practices. Initiate riparian enhancement activities.
- March 1-March 31 2019 > Complete outstanding riparian enhancement activities as necessary.
