Project Description:

This was a comprehensive Source Water Assessment and Protection Plan of the Kaleden Irrigation District’s (KID) intake on Skaha Lake, in order to meet requirements of Interior Health Authority that mandates the assessment of risks and recommends protective measures for the water system source.

It has allowed the KID and all other Skaha Lake sourced purveyors to better identify the risks of the water it supplies, recommended ways to mitigate those risks, how to move forward in future endeavors and to produce high quality, safe drinking water. It also assists in providing g a plan to meet the IHA 4, 3, 2, 1, 0 mandate.
