Drought Information & Updates

The Okanagan
The Okanagan could be heading into another hot, dry summer. Conditions across the valley will vary, and it is important to know where to get accurate and locally relevant information.

The drought level set by the Province of B.C. (see below) shows us the big picture for the Okanagan, but what really counts for your home and garden are your local watering restrictions. Why? Because they’re set based on the specific water supply and demand right where you live.

Your local water supplier knows best what’s needed to keep water flowing for homes, food, fish, and firefighting right where you are.

Check out the links below or do a quick Google of “your location + watering restrictions”, or a call to your water supplier will get you the correct information that impacts your neighbourhood.

About drought in B.C.
B.C. continues to get less rain and snow than usual and that’s having a lasting impact on water levels. We experienced severe drought the last two years and remain at risk this year.

Please visit the province’s Drought Information Portal

The drought information portal is a single source to access current and historical drought levels across geographic regions in B.C. The drought level map is updated every Thursday during drought season.
